Inaugural Declaration of Policy Network Tomorrow
Today, we enjoy the Republic of Korea thanks to the sacrifices and devotions of many.
What took developed countries 200 years to achieve, Korea achieved in 50 years, creating the so-called Korean Miracle. But we still have many obstacles to overcome.
We still suffer from the division of Korea, a security crisis, a potential declining growth rate with no new growth engines, and poverty. Moreover the gaps in education, regional development, gender equality, and corporate strength continue to grow. Additionally, the low birth and high suicide rates symbolize the insecurity Koreans have about their country’s future. The politics that should provide answers to these problems have only delayed the solutions.
Politics should open the way for a brighter future. Koreans, therefore, sincerely want a Korea where welfare and peace are firmly rooted. However, Korean society is still suffering from insecurities in many basic areas such as housing, childcare, education, health, and post-retirement life. Therefore, now is the time to solve the people’s insecurity with welfare while guaranteeing fair opportunities and regulations in market competition
Only when we establish a righteous and fair welfare state will we be able to overcome the many obstacles impeding Korea’s future development.
Of course, welfare and justice cannot be achieved without peace.
Therefore, it is imminent to build a peaceful system on the Korean peninsula while pursuing the reunification of Korea.
Tomorrow's Three promise
we believe that the best policies are derived not from government experts, but from people’s lives.
『Policy Network Tomorrow』’s research focus is to solve problems faced by Koreans.
we will prioritize those who are socially disadvantaged.
We will speak for children, the disabled, the weak, and the elderly. We will bring about changes embracing small and medium enterprises, self-employed businesses, unemployed youth, and contract workers faced with limitations.
we will create a horizontal network instead of a vertical and unilateral space.
『Policy Network Tomorrow』will provide a communication forum where the members do not think with their heads but their hearts. It will be an open space for all Korean citizens to voice their opinions and concerns.
